With over 15 years in the music industry, Yeankeyz — real name Mayowa Adeyinka Orenuga — is no newcomer to the game. Hailing from Ikorodu, Lagos State, he’s known behind the scenes for his production work with African music heavyweights like Olamide, ID Cabasa, Reminisce, Qdot, Junior Boy, and the legendary Sound Sultan (RIP), among others.
His sound blends the grit of the streets with the flair of modern Afro-fusion — bridging the sounds of OG Nigeria and Gen Z energy.
“KOKO”, which loosely translates to “Money what matters most”, is an anthem about staying true to your roots. Produced by Yeankeyz himself, the track delivers bouncing percussion, high-impact street rhythms, and a lyrical message grounded in confidence and clarity.
‘KOKO’ is about money, what really matters — the essence, the message, the hustle.“ It’s raw, it’s cultural, and it’s personal,” says Yeankeyz.
Now operating between London and Lagos, Yeankeyz is preparing to roll out a string of singles ahead of a debut EP and album slated for later this year. With “KOKO” leading the charge, this next chapter positions him not just as a beatmaker — but as a full-fledged artist poised to shake the scene.
